She blogs full-time for Gawker, covering political gossip, celebrity gossip, and human interest stories. The New York Times called her a "rising star of gossip blogs" in 2010. New York magazine named her one of "21 New Media Innovators" in 2011, the year she broke a sex scandal that led to the resignation of a U.S. Congressman.

Maureen does a monthly celebrity gossip segment for the Today Show. She has appeared on The ViewGood Morning America, Piers Morgan Tonight, CNN's NewsroomNightlineAccess Hollywood, A&E Biography, and MTV's Ten on Top, and has a weekly vlog called Gawkerazzi. Her writing has appeared in The Daily BeastThe Los Angeles Times, The New York Daily News, and bilingual Hong Kong magazine West East.

Before becoming a professional gossip, Maureen was an amateur one at Princeton University, where she edited Ivy League gossip blog IvyGate.
